A prepared walker is worth two! That is why we are proud to share our new routes for the 2023 Refugee Walk.

We take off from the Zomerfabriek in Antwerp on 8 October. Avid hikers who know the region like the back of their hand set out for us to create the most enjoyable walks. These challenging day trips of 20 or 40 km take you through the unique landscape of Antwerp and its surroundings. Thanks to extensive signposting, there is no need to get your map and compass and you can fully enjoy the surroundings. Want to practice? Check out the routes here!

The starting signal for this route will be given at 13:00 at the Zomerfabriek This route starts along the green area of Fort 4 in Mortsel and then continues through the Frijthout nature reserve in Hove.

It then continues along a richly variegated path full of parks, green landscapes and nature reserve in Boechout, to end again in Berchem.

Moreover, this year again we have done our utmost to find cosy spots where our walkers can take a breather. If the sun is shining, you are going to be able to enjoy the autumn warmth outside at each resting point. Is the weather bad? Then these three spots will offer you plenty of security and cosiness!
